EPISODE 6: Ferdinand Magellan (Part 2)

The following episodes featured in Camp Chug-A-Long will educate you on the history of railroads, and features some of the historic rail cars on display at the Gold Coast Railroad Museum.

In this episode, historian Cesar A. Becerra will be talking about Miami-Dade's first National Historic Landmark, The U.S. Presidential Car No. 1, 'Ferdinand Magellan'

The Ferdinand Magellan is unique among Pullman railroad cars in that it is the only car ever custom built for the President of the United States. Originally built in 1928, the Ferdinand Magellan was one of the last cars ever built as a private car and was one of a group of six cars named after famous explorers.
