Meet The Volunteers

From high school students to retired professionals, engineers to educators, and even train crew—our volunteers come from all walks of life, united by a shared passion for preserving history and keeping it running.

Whether restoring equipment, guiding tours, staffing events, or lending a hand behind the scenes, these individuals are the heartbeat of the Gold Coast Railroad Museum. Their dedication fuels our momentum and reminds us why this work matters.

Below is a selection of some of our tenured volunteers—people who’ve helped shape GCRM with their time, talent, and heart. These are their stories.

Engineer

Chris

Chris has a wealth of knowledge and is a vital part of our volunteer team contributing in many ways to help the overall success of the Gold Coast Railroad Musuem. Chris helps keep all of our rolling stock and engines maintained and assists in restoration efforts. You may have met Chris while he was the engineer of NASA2 during a cab ride or a be the engineer experience!

Train Master

Daniel

Daniel is Gold Coast Railroad Musuem's trainmaster. He is the orchestrator of all things that move on the rails. Daniel is responsible for the safety and efficiency of every operation. This isn't a job for the faint of heart; it requires a deep knowledge of the rules and signals, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.

Speeder Operator

Jamie

Jamie is our railroad speeder expert! He keeps this piece of history rolling. He's not only a skilled operator, but a dedicated guardian of railroad history. Jamie's passionate about sharing the stories of the people who once rode these speeders and the role they played in keeping the railroads running. He loves sharing and passing along Gold Coast Railroad history with others.

Ryan

Ryan is a vital part of our volunteer team contributing in a multitude of ways that are essential to our operations. Whether it's in the shop, on the track, or on the train itself, he brings a wealth of enthusiasm and a can-do attitude to every task.

Aiden

Aiden is a dedicated volunteer who is always willing to help whatever needs done to ensure operations at the musuem are able to continue. Aiden often helps with restoring and maintaining ourbrolling stock and engines. He is often seen on the end of the locomotive or consist as the conductor. Safety is a top priority and he is always ensuring our visitors are safely enjoying their experience at the musuem.

Conductor

Zeus

Zeus brings a wealth of train knowledge aboard. Zeus is often seen running our Link train giving guests a chance to see the musuem property from our 2 foot narrow gauge train. He shares his enthusiasm for trains with others as he greets guests.
