Rene
Rene recently became a member of the Gold Coast Railroad Museum’s board, bringing over 25 years of financial experience and expertise along with a passion for railroading that stems from his son Vicente’s love for all things train related. Rene’s background has primarily been leading the finance and administrative functions of technology companies (data centers, cybersecurity software and artificial intelligence). A born and raised Miami native, he provides financial advice to the museum primarily in the form of budgetary guidance that helps to advance the mission while promoting strict compliance and controls. Rene is proud to support the museum’s efforts to foster a community of railroading in South Florida.

Vice President
Merritt
Merritt Burrus serves as a committed member of the Gold Coast Railroad Museum’s board, bringing a deep knowledge of facility, electrical, and mechanical expertise and a passion for history and preservation. He actively contributes significantly in the areas of strategic planning, facility and rolling stock maintenance, and improving visitors' experience, helping advance the museum’s mission. With a strong interest in the developmental history of the Miami-Dade area and anything with an engine, wires or wheels, Merritt is proud to support the museum’s efforts to educate and inspire future generations.

Nicole
Nicole Espaillat serves as a committed member of the Gold Coast Railroad Museum’s board, bringing her background in Museum Administration and Non-Profits back to South Florida after time in Baltimore, Maryland, and Washington DC. She is using her love for local histories, industrial design & historic preservation to move the museum forward with passion and enthusiasm. Nicole is proud to support the museum’s efforts to educate and inspire future generations. She is excited for the community and beyond to discover this local gem.

Lee
Lee Cohen serves on the board of the Gold Coast Railroad Museum, bringing a global perspective shaped by extensive international travel. Having explored rail systems and transportation networks across various countries, Lee developed a deep appreciation for how trains connect people, places, and histories. Professionally, he works in Corporate Development M&A, helping organizations grow and innovate, but it’s his passion for cultural preservation and community engagement that drives his commitment to the museum. Lee is proud to support the museum’s efforts to inspire future generations through the rich history of railroading.

Jeff
Jeff Brown has been a member of the Gold Coast Railroad Museum for 35 years. He has served on the Museum Board for over 10 years and has a strong passion for passenger railroading. He has restored two passenger railcars, Silver Treasure (formerly CB&Q) and Silver Palm (formerly Seaboard).
As a dedicated museum member, Jeff has contributed both equipment and time to support the museum, helping to improve the visitor experience and further its mission.
