New Artifacts in the Ferdinand Magellan

Updated: Apr 28

There are new artifacts in the U.S. Car No. 1, "Ferdinand Magellan!" Our dedicated staff member, Alexandra MacRobert, took up the task of setting up original ivory china in the presidential rail car. The original, White House china plates were used in the Ferdinand Magellan from 1943 to 1958 during the Roosevelt and Eisenhower presidential terms. We are especially grateful to Lucille Domick, who donated the ivory plates to us to display at GCRM. Thank you, Lucille!

You can take a tour of the U.S. Car No. 1, "Ferdinand Magellan" for an additional $5.00 to museum admission and see the original ivory plates in all their glory! Click here to learn more about the Ferdinand Magellan.
